Florida Classical Ballet is a Pompano Beach based ballet company founded in 2010 under the artistic direction of Ms. Magaly Suarez, the internationally recognized ballet mistress and choreographer who brought Miami unforgettable ballet performances such as Giselle(2007), Swan Lake(2008), Le Corsaire(2009), Carmen(2009), The Nutcracker(2008 to 2016) , Florida Classical Ballet Debut Programs I and II (2010) , Spring and Summer Galas(2011 to 2016), La Bayadere(2013) and other programs.
The mission of the FCB is to promote and preserve the tradition of classical ballet by offering audiences a repertoire of exciting programming designed to enrich and inspire the community and it's culture. FCB company is comprised of highly talented and disciplined local, national and international artists and focuses on excellence through the fusion of Cuban technique and American style. |
Magaly Suárez is an exceptional dance professional with over 30 years of international experience. Born in Havana, Cuba, she graduated with honors with the titles of Dancer and Teacher from the Cuban National Ballet School in 1980. She discovered her passion for teaching very early in her life, and she was prepared to do so by the best teachers of the Cuban National Ballet School. Throughout her outstanding career, Ms. Suárez had the opportunity to teach for nineteen years at the Cuban National Ballet School and visit many countries, inspiring and touching the lives of many ballet students. She has developed and worked with excellent dancers, many of them currently holding principal and soloist positions in the finest US, European, and Latin American dance companies.
Ms. Suárez was a founder and Artistic Director of the Cuban Classical Ballet of Miami (CCBM) from 2006 until December 2009, where she staged full ballets such as Carmen, Giselle, Le Corsaire, The Nutcracker, Paquita and Swan Lake with great success. She has been invited to stage ballets and teach in many schools and professional companies all over the U.S. and abroad.
Magaly has worked with Cincinnati Ballet, Corella Ballet, Morphoses, Orlando Ballet, the Carreno Dance Festival and the International Festival of Miami.
On her quest to create quality ballet dancers, Ms. Suárez developed her own teaching methodology, based on the Cuban Ballet School. She is an expert in classical ballet technique and all classical repertoire and very proficient in other dance styles. A very successful coach, Ms. Suárez has trained and coached many dancers for international ballet competitions. Currently, Ms. Suárez is the owner and Director of The Art of Classical Ballet School in Pompano Beach, Florida and the Artistic Director of Florida Classical Ballet. She is completely dedicated to teaching and rehearsing her students and professional dancers
